Ambassadors
The most visible presence of the Clean and Safe programs of the Union Square BID is the men and women in the red and blue uniforms known as Ambassadors. Union Square Ambassadors provide a reassuring presence on the streets and assist visitors and tourists with a variety of needs including directions, transportations information and emergency response. They patrol the Union Square district daily on foot with emphasis on the busiest pedestrian areas and at special events.

Union Square Ambassadors serve as "eye's and ears" for local law enforcement agencies and are radio-equipped for instant reporting. Through high visibility and consistent coverage, they provide effective crime deterrence, warm hospitality and timely information. Ambassadors are linked by radio to a central dispatch station, where information is available on all local businesses, attractions and services.

TAGG Team
The goal of the TAGG Team, is to "Take Away Graffiti & Grime" to make the BID cleaner and more attractive and to deter crime and negative activity through attention to maintenance. TAGGers supplement city services by providing daily sidewalk and curb cleaning, trash bagging, removal of litter and graffiti in all 10 blocks of the Union Square BID. Steam cleaning machines are utilized primarily in the early morning hours and every properties sidewalk are steam cleaned two times a month. TAGGers paint over street level graffiti on light poles, street furniture, and utility boxes within 24 hours of report. Keeping the streets free of litter and graffiti maintains order, sends the message that someone cares and discourages further violations
